Welcome to our weekly segment, in which we showcase DC fan’s collections. Whether it is a fan just starting out with a small collection, to some of the largest collections in the world, there is always something you can learn from looking at other’s collections. You might find a new way to display something, or maybe even see something you did not know existed!
Today’s focus is on the collection of Chad Connally. Chad has one of the best displayed DC Comics collections I have seen! When I saw just a few images of his collection, I immediately knew I had to contact him to see if he would mind sharing with our readers. Whether it is one of his many Super Powers figures (my personal favorites), or any number of his other figures, Chad’s collection will be sure to impress.
Check out more about Chad and his collection below!
DCCollectors: How did you get into collecting DC toys and what was your first DC toy/collectible?
Chad Connally: I got started at a early age with the Mego line. The Mego Robin was my first and favorite of that series of figures.
DCCollectors: How many pieces are in your collection?
Chad Connally: I believe at this point it is over 500 figures, and over 35 statues.
DCCollectors: If you could only choose one item to keep, which one would it be?
Chad Connally: It would have to be my Mego Robin figure.
DCCollectors: What is the one item that you really want to add to your collection?
Chad Connally: A Prime 1 Studios Batman statue.
DCCollectors: What piece of advice do you have for those just starting their collections?
Chad Connally: Try to start with one series or one character. If you go to big to fast, it can overwhelm you and your wallet. If I was just starting out, I would start with the Batman: The Animated Series figures. It’s a great line, fun to hunt, and not to expensive.
DCCollectors: Do you have an interesting story regarding the collection, such as meeting someone famous while shopping for your toys, or a super deal you got on something? Something along those lines.
Chad Connally: A few years ago I found a mint on card Super Powers Firestorm for one dollar. It got me into being a diehard collector of that line. It has since become my favorite because it displays so well.
