DCCollectors: How did you get into collecting DC toys and what was your first DC toy/collectible?

Rod Lacy: This all started when I was very young. I have toys in my collection that I have had since I was 2 years old. If it was BATMAN, I had to have it!

DCCollectors: How many pieces are in your collection?

Rod Lacy: I absolutely have no idea? I have three more boxes in the attic due to the fact that I simply have no more room. Looks like I am going to need a bigger CAVE!

DCCollectors: If you could only choose one item to keep, which one would it be?

Rod Lacy: That is a very difficult question? It is the very rare pieces, or the pieces that family/friends have purchased for me. I know this is a cop-op answer, but everything in my collection is my favorite!

DCCollectors: What is the one item that you really want to add to your collection?

Rod Lacy: I would love to have the Queen Studios Bust! I think that would take my collection to the next level. Unfortunately I would have to dish out a small fortune! But if I could, it definitely would be worth it!

DCCollectors: What piece of advice do you have for those just starting their collections?

Rod Lacy: My advice would be, start small or commit to one specific category. For example, if you like statues only, then collect statues. If you like collecting figures, stay with figures! In my case, most of my collection is reasonable, but then you have bigger items so you have to adjust financially. Allow/budget yourself so much money a month for your collection and stay true to it. If not, it will get out of hand quickly. Trust me!

DCCollectors: Do you have an interesting story regarding the collection, such as meeting someone famous while shopping for your toys, or a super deal you got on something? Something along those lines.

Rod Lacy: I got to meet Yvonne Craig one time and told her of my collection. She was very sweet and down to earth. She signed a photo for me, (which I have in my collection). I have met some amazing people in the collecting world, which many have become very good friends. They are always on the look out for me, for a deal to good to pass up. I have been very blessed to be a small part of the collecting world!
